The legendary Memphis Soul Kings Booker T & The MG's began their careers early in the 1960's playing, arranging and writing for Stax artists behind the scenes at the famed studio. What started out as a simple jam with a different take on chordal structures, "Green Onions" was created while jamming in the studio. In record time, the tune burst into the soul and pop charts and quickly hit number one in the soul charts.
